Entry-level AMD Radeon RX 5300 XT graphics card spotted for pre-order

We’re still waiting on an official announcement from AMD but the first sightings of the AMD Radeon RX 5300 XT GPUs have already cropped up. German retailer Alternate has put up pre-orders for an HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-0006ng desktop PC, ready to ship in 17 days time. The pre-built PC includes an AMD Radeon RX 5300 XT graphics card alongside an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor.

Based upon the shipping date for the PC, this could mean AMD’s lower end Radeon RX 5300 Series could be ready to launch by Friday, October 11th.

All of this adds credence to recent rumours that AMD will be adopting a similar naming scheme to its Ryzen processors. This would mean we can expect the Radeon RX 5300 and Radeon RX 5500 Series to accompany the already released Radeon RX 5700 Series. Looking further afield, this could mean we’ll see more powerful Radeon RX 5900 Series at some point.

With no official announcement from AMD, the details are obviously a little scarce, although we can glean a few specs from the HP PC listed on Alternate. The pre-build PC includes an AMD Radeon RX 5300 XT GPU with 4GB VRAM, as well as three DisplayPorts and a single HDMI for output.

From the naming alone we can assume the AMD Radeon RX 5300 XT will be an entry-level 7nm component, alongside what will presumably be a standard Radeon RX 5300. These would replace the outgoing Radeon RX 550 and Radeon RX 560 graphics cards.

We’ll keep you updated but it sounds as if we should concrete from AMD within the next couple of weeks.
