Perhaps it was navigating the movie license which proved treacherous, or it could’ve been that it needed to be designed for consoles too, but there was something a little bit off with Jurassic World Evolution. It may not have been the most complete management package when it launched last year, but Frontier Developments has stuck by Jurassic World Evolution in the months since.

We’ve had two larger-scaled expansions as well as trio of dinosaur packs, and now we’re about to get the most nostalgia driven tribute to Jurassic Park yet. Jurassic World Evolution: Return to Jurassic Park has been announced, bringing the iconic film locations to life in a new story campaign which follows the events of Jurassic Park. This means the same dinos, attractions, and voice actors (including Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern), challenging the player to fix the park in a way the original crew couldn’t. It’ll then be down to players to swing open those iconic wooden gates and open up Jurassic Park to the public for the first time.

Well, that’s how it should happen, anyway. There’s a lot that can go and probably will go wrong when you’re trying to cage up 9-tonnes of razor-toothed venom capable of running at 45 mph.

Jurassic World Evolution: Return to Jurassic Park is a paid DLC (price TBC) which comes to Jurassic World Evolution on December 10th.
