Time sure does fly because it’s now been well over a year since Battle For Azeroth came along and sundered opinion among World of Warcraft. According to fresh leaks, Blizzard is gearing up for the reveal of WoW’s eight expansion pack at BlizzCon 2019.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is a game which has been mooted for some time and with a ‘leak’ on the Blizzard Gear store it would appear it’s now official.
The image in question shows Bolvar Fordragon, the Lich King, along with the option to buy a ‘WoW Shadowlands Logo Shirt’ and ‘WoW: Shadowlands Fine Art Print’.
Just to add more fuel to an already inferno of evidence, a second piece of advertising artwork has also emerged. The artwork for WoW: Shadowlands invites players to “Enter the Shadowlands!”, where we’ll be able to “Explore the glorious land of Bastion” and “Meet the noble Kyrian” to “discover new abilities”.
It would seem all but assured than one of the expected six game reveals at BlizzCon 2019 this weekend will, in fact, be World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. There’s probably a big heaping of pressure on this one too. The community didn’t take too kindly to Battle for Azeroth and WoW’s chief competitor, Final Fantasy XIV, continues to go from strength to strength. For context, FFXIV’s Shadowbringers expansion is the highest rated game of 2019 and Square Enix has reported subscriber numbers are booming right now.
BlizzCon 2019 takes place this weekend, from November 1st through to November 2nd.
