Sony announces State of Play live showcase, ‘hefty show’ with The Last of Us 2 featured
Here we go, buckle Sony Fans. Sony has announced a State of Play live broadcast will be airing next Tuesday, September 24th. You’ll be able to watch the 20-minute showcase via your choice of hellhole YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, or Twitter.
This is the first time one of these State of Play events will actually be a live broadcast rather a pre-recorded, Nintendo Direct type affair.
Sony has said we can expect a “pretty hefty show” with around 20 minutes of games content and a “fresh new look.” You can expect to see new game reveals, new content from Sony’s Worldwide Studios and The Last of Us 2, lots of and lots of The Last of Us: Part 2. Just over a week ago, Sony sent out invites to a media event on September 24th during which The Last of Us: Part II will be shown. We’re expecting this to be that exact same event.
Should be stepping aboard the PlayStation 5 hype train then you may want to keep your hype levels in check. Sony has said fans should not expect any updates related to plans for its next-gen console in this episode. Nice double bluff, Sony we see right through it. Bring on the PS5 goodness.
State of Play will be airing on Tuesday, September 24th at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST.
We’ll bring you a live link and a reminder of the event next week, a few hours before it’s all due to kick off.
