Destiny 2 is absolutely popping off on Steam right now having arrived as a free-to-play title around two years after its original launch. It’s currently the four most popular game on the entire platform, overtaking Grand Theft Auto V and Rainbow Six: Siege in the process. The F2P launched has been joined by the arrival of Destiny 2 – Shadowkeep, a paid expansion which takes players on a quest beneath the surface of our moon.
While players have been busying themselves getting to grips with the all-new storyline, revamped destinations, and the juicy new gear to unlock, the main event is undoubtedly the arrival of Shadowkeep’s end-game Raid. The Garden of Salvation will be unlocked today, Saturday, October 5th, at 6pm BST, and promises to be uber-hard dungeon trek which will take even the most organised group many hours to complete.
Bungie has begun teasing the arrival of Garden of Salvation, including a brand new trailer which gives us our first look at what could be in-store from this epic open-air raid encounter. It’s set in the original Destiny’s Black Garden, a Vex stronghold which is locked between the realms of both time and space.
In order to get into Shadowkeep’s Garden of Salvation raid you and your team will need a gear score of at least 890 Power each. There’s no matchmaking either, as Bungie believes teamwork and planning is going to be so crucial to completion. That rules me out then, as finding five other mates with an entire weekend to burn sat indoors sounds like a lofty task. Ah well, it’s always enjoyable seeing just how these things are solved by some of Destiny 2’s more committed players.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep – Garden of Salvation is out later today on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
