We’ve had a week or so to digest the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC system requirements and the general consensus seems to be ‘phew’. While plenty of AAA titles are placed at the cutting edge of technology, Red Dead Redemption 2’s are actually very reasonable. In fact, RDR 2’s system specs are pretty much bang in line with the industry average over the last 12 months. It means Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t even have high enough specs to crack our list of the Top 100 Most Demanding Games on PC.

You’ll be needing a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB, or equivalent, in order to meet Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC system requirements. Your graphics will need to be paired with a quad-core CPU such as the Intel Core i7-4770K 4-Core 3.5GHz or AMD Ryzen R5 1500X, as well as 12GB RAM. Another big concern for PC gamers is the amount of download space/time it will take to get a PC copy of Red Dead Redemption 2.

But, we know there are still a ton of PC gamers out there who don’t have rigs which come near Red Dead Redemption 2’s recommended specs. And, well, not many games can claim to come close to Red Dead in terms of stature. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the joint-highest scoring game this generation based on aggregate reviews of the console release, and the PC version is going to look and play even better. It’s the ultimate version of the ultimate game, and the sort of vast, beautiful open-world which benefits from cranking those graphics settings up as high as possible.

With just over three weeks to go until the PC Red Dead Redemption 2 launches via the Rockstar Games Launcher and the Epic Games Store, and a couple of months until the Steam release, it’s crunch time on preparing your rig for Arthur Morgan’s Western epic.

Bearing all that in mind, what are your PC upgrade plans for Red Dead Redemption 2’s launch? Are you going all in and building a new rig; is it time for that GPU upgrade you’ve been hankering for, or are you happy with your current setup?

So, is RDR2 the game which will make you want to upgrade your GPU? Get voting in the poll and let us know why below!
