The Lucca Comics & Games Festival 2019 will be playing host to the world exclusive unveiling of the first trailer for The Witcher III’s Netflix television series adaptation.
Lucca’s festival runs from October 30th through to November 3rd and we’re expecting the first trailer for The Witcher, starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, will be the centrepiece of the event.
I’ve been to Lucca a few times and I’d never really considered it a gaming hub but that shows how much I know. They claim it’s the second largest comics and games festival in the world, which is certainly saying saying something.
A number of the stars of the show will be in attendance, including Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri), as well as show-runner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and even the big man himself, The Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski.
We’ll be keeping an eye on this one at the end of the month as everyone is doubtless keen to see just how Netflix has handled a mall screen adaptation which needs to please readers, gamers, and Netflix bingers alike.
