We’re now entering the eye of the storm. Storm Arthur, if you will. Red Dead Redemption 2 is due to launch on PC in T-minus five days. It’s Red Dead, as it was always intended, with high resolution and ultra-wide support, enhanced visuals, and an uncapped frame rate.

Having spent 100 hours with Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4, we’re still as keen as ever to find out what Rockstar’s magnum opus is like on PC. Judging from the latest batch of screenshots released by Nvidia GeForce, RDR2 should be an open-world graphical behemoth once it lands on PC on November 5th.

Sadly, despite the ‘GeForce RTX’ logo proudly emblazoned across all three of these screenshots, Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC won’t be arriving with real-time raytracing support. We talked to Nvidia about this exact topic last week and the official line is that there are “no plans” for RTX features in RDR2. That doesn’t rule it out from happening one day though; Nvidia has demonstrated with its Lightspeed Studios that it’s more than happy to put in the legwork to add raytracing features itself.

Anyway, enough dwelling on what Red Dead 2, here’s what it does have on PC with these gorgeous new screenshots.

RDR2 on PC will benefit from an extended draw distance, improved shadows and lighting, new grass and fur textures, uncapped frame rates, and high resolution support.

Rockstar made Red Dead Redemption 2 available to pre-load through the Rockstar Games Launcher yesterday, ahead of its official launch on November 5th. The initial download clocks in at a whopping 109.47 GB and it’s recommended you have at least 155GB free space on your hard drive.

If the RGL or Epic Games Store aren’t your thing then Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming to Steam at some point in December.
