The man needs an editor. That’ll probably end up being the theme of the reviews, to be honest, and his epitaph, but Hideo Kojima’s idiosyncratic ways have been summed up by Death Stranding’s launch trailer clocking in at eight minutes long.
It’s eight minutes of bewildering revelations, plenty of tears, total nonsense, and vistas to die for. I haven’t played Death Stranding yet but it also feels like it is absolutely littered with spoilers, so tread carefully. It’s probably best to just glaze over this trailer while you’re watching; soak up the vibe but don’t take in the details.
As with all Kojima trailers, you’re best off brewing a piping hot cup of coffee before settling down for this one.
SPOILER WARNING: This trailer for Death Stranding may have plenty of story spoilers
In case you missed the big gaming news this week, Kojima Productions confirmed on Monday that Death Stranding will be coming to PC in summer 2020. PC players are probably going to need to go on a Death Stranding blackout for the next eight months as we expect there are going to be spoilers galore being thrown around.
Death Stranding comes to PlayStation 4 on November 8th, with the review embargo lifting in the early hours of this Friday, November 1st.
