GOG Galaxy 2.0 closed beta launches – First invites going out now

Comments

The GOG Galaxy 2.0 closed beta has just launched, GOG has announced. GOG Galaxy 2.0’s headline feature is the promised ability to house all of your PC game clients and friends list in one place. On paper, it sounds like the holy grail of PC gaming clients, although we’re naturally to keen to see how it works in practice, rather than theory.

“GOG GALAXY 2.0 closed beta just launched!” wrote GOG. “Check out the app’s core features – connect multiple platforms, install & launch PC games, organize the library and see friends’ gaming activity. Sharing your feedback is very much encouraged.”

Keep your eyes on your email inboxes as invites to the GOG Galaxy 2.0 beta are going out on a first come, first served basis.

I signed up for the closed beta within about 30 seconds of it being announced back in May, although I haven’t even got a sniff of an email. Suffice to say, it sounds as if the first wave of invites may be very limited indeed, although GOG has promised additional invites will be going out in waves.

“Keep in mind it’s still a work-in-progress, with possible bugs or issues, and additional features to be added at a later date,” GOG explains. “We’re sending invites on a first come first served basis, so please be patient!”

If you haven’t signed up for just yet then you can still do so here. You’ll be at the back of the queue but we expect GOG.com to begin ramping up the invites significantly in the coming weeks.

Has anyone managed to get lucky and snag an invite already? How are your first impressions?
