If you’ve been holding out for some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer gameplay without some annoying chump squealing over it then help is at hand. Infinity Ward has dropped a new 4K ‘Gunfight’ trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, focusing on raw gameplay from the Pine, King, and Stack maps. maps.
Gunfight is a new mode coming to COD: Modern Warfare which pits two teams of two against one another in close-quarters, fast-paced combat. It looks like super-tight scale Counter-Strike, giving each player a single life per round. Whichever team hits the round win limit first wins. In terms of speed of play and round times, it definitely reminds me of Rainbow Six Siege’s recent time-limited Showdown mode. Each round on this map appears to have a time limit of around 40 seconds, ensuring Gun Fight is fast, furious, and aggressive.
The footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare below was captured in 4K using a PlayStation 4 Pro. It definitely looks a damn sight better than Black Ops 4 on console, so this could end up quite the looker on PC.
Having to been overly enamoured by the first batch of gameplay, I have to say I like what I see here. One of my main bugbears of typical COD multiplayer is the constant frenetic pace and wild spawns which mean you’re never more than five seconds away from being shot in the back. This mode looks like a nice middle ground of COD’s fast pace with tactical combat.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 25th.
