JRPG fans are absolutely spoiled these days and they’ve got another treat on the way – Level-5 president Akihiro Hino has confirmed Japanese publication Nikkei that Ni no Kuni 3 is in development.
Details are thin on the ground but Hino said the third game in the Ni no Kuni franchise is in active development and is due to release some time after the Ni no Kuni movie arrives in theatres.
The Japanese release of the Ni no Kuni movies is scheduled to hit cinemas on August 29th, and form the cornerstone of Level 5 and Bandai Namco’s plans to grow the franchise into a bigger deal.
There are a few different methods to how Level-5 is planning to achieve this, comprising the movie, the third game in the series, and the recently announced remaster of the first game, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. It’s coming to PC for the first time this September, as well as PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
We have to say, we’d assumed Ni no Kuni had faded from grace a little after Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom didn’t appear to make the biggest splash. It did earn fantastic reviews though, so there’s certainly a strong base there for Level-5 to grow this JRPG franchise.
