We love it when we see the potential for one of those so bad it’s great games. Terminator: Resistance could be exactly that. Or it could be awful. Or actually great. I mean, who even knows anymore. What’s important though is this a brand new Unreal Engine 4 powered first-person shooter based on The Terminator and T2: Judgment Day, and it maybe it can go some way to redressing the balance of those awful new movies. Terminator: Resistance is out this November, and here are the PC specs you’ll need to play it.
Terminator: Resistance Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows 7 64-bit CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 2-Core 3.6 GHz or AMD FX-8350 8-Core 4.0GHz RAM: 8 GB System Memory GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 or Radeon RX 560 HDD: 32 GB Available Hard Drive Space DX: DirectX 11
Terminator: Resistance Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows 10 64-bit CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 6-Core 2.8 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-Core 3.4 GHz RAM: 8 GB System Memory GPU RAM: 8 GB Video Memory GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 590 HDD: 32 GB Available Hard Drive Space DX: DirectX 11
Just like the very existence of the game itself, the system requirements for Terminator: Resistance are a little strange. The oddness is primarily centred around the minimum requirements, which suggest a low-end dual-core multi-threaded Intel Core i3-4160 or an octa-core AMD FX-8350. Neither are particularly great processors in this day and age but it’s nevertheless quite the mismatch.
In order to meet Terminator Resistance’s minimum specs you’ll also need a 2GB DX11 video card such as the GeForce GTX 1050 or a Radeon RX 560, along with 8GB RAM. This will be enough to play Terminator: Resistance at 1080p/60fps on Medium settings, suggesting quite a lot of wiggle room if you’ve got lower specs than this.
In order to get Terminator: Resistance looking its finest you’ll need a considerable jump up in specs. We’re not looking at a rock-solid modern hexa-core CPU along with an upper mid-tier graphics card such as the GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon Rx 590. This will allow you to play Terminator Resistance at 1440p screen resolution, 60 frames per second, on High or Ultra graphics settings. This suggests to us that a GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 480 should be able to handle 1080p/Ultra @60fps just fine.
