There are a couple more Epic Games Store freebies trying to tempt you over to the dark side this week. Epic Games is keeping up the expectation of providing excellent quality freebies with the arrival of both The End is Nigh and Abzu.
All you need is an Epic Games account and you can log in between now and September 12th to add both The End is Nigh and Abzu to your Epic Games library for the princely sum of nothing.
The End is Nigh is a typically ultra-hard platformer from Edmund McMillen (Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac) and Tyler Glaiel (Bombernauts, Closure) that is, by all accounts, rather excellent, although I haven’t had the pleasure of playing it yet.
The other is Abzu, a game which can somewhat loosely be described as underwater Journey, although it’s lacking all of the online social elements. It’s a short game, although it’s an absolute feast for the eyes which can really pop at 4K with a decent display.
Next up on the freebies list is Conarium, which will be available to download from the EGS for a week, from September 12th onward. It’s yet another one of those Lovecraftian adventure horror games, although the reaction in the Steam reviews is certainly positive so this should be a good one to add to the collection if you can stomach use the Epic Store.
