Star Wars fans are being absolutely spoiled right now. The Mandalorian is being very well received over on Disney Plus; Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is out next month, and then we’ve got Star Wars: Jedi – Fallen Order, the best Star Wars game in many a year.

We’ve been benchmarking Jedi Fallen Order with both a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 6GB PNY XLR8 OC, which comes in just about the recommended spec GTX 1070, along with testing the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 itself, the exact recommended GPU for Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.

These benchmark tests were performed during two action sequences sandwiching a platforming section, from a part roughly 1/3 into Star Wars Jedi.

You’ll notice with only done Medium, High and Ultra benchmarks. This is because the lowest graphics setting available in SWJ: Fallen Order is Medium. For all intents and purposes, Medium means Low in Fallen Order, this is just some rebranding from Respawn that’s probably designed to make Low players feel a little better about their performance. It’s still a fantastic looking game on Medium though, so don’t have any fears that you’re missing out on the full experience.

As expected, the GeForce RTX 2060 6GB absolutely breezed through Jedi Fallen Order. We breathed a sigh of relief, honestly, particularly after the well publicised troubles of Red Dead Redemption 2. Star Wars Jedi is the exact opposite experience. It’s slick, it runs well, and there’s the absolute minimum of fuss involved.

The PNY GeForce RTX 2060 6GB has found a nice home as a solid 1440p video card and this is the natural home for it here. A locked 60fps at 1440p/Ultra in Fallen Order is absolutely possible. 4K support gets a little iffy but 4K/30fps on Ultra is definitely a possibility. In Resolution mode, the Xbox One X is restricted to 30 frames per second so this level of performance is perfectly possible with a GeForce RTX 2060.

Being the exact recommended video card, the GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, unsurprisingly, handles Star Wars Jedi with aplomb. On average it runs around 10% slower than a GeForce RTX 2060 which can potentially prove problematic at 1440p/Ultra. Overall though, the experience is great and we’d suggest the recommended graphics card for Star Wars Jedi is actually a little too high. Something such as the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB should absolutely be capable of hitting 1080p/60 on Ultra, locked.
