It takes some serious faith these days to muster up some excitement for new BioWare games but, compared to the Mass Effect and Anthem franchises, Dragon Age is still relatively unsullied. We’re cautiously looking forward to Dragon Age 4 then, and according to a new teaser tweet from BioWare we may not have to wait long at all until we can lay our eyes on it.
Last year at The Game Awards, EA rather cryptically teased Dragon Age 4 with the briefest of teaser trailers. We found out precisely nothing about the game other than it’s coming. However, a new message from BioWare has hinted we could see more of Dragon Age 4 on December 12th.
“Today marks 10 years of Dragon Age!,” exclaimed BioWare on twitter. “This year we’re excited to join the community’s party on December 4th and celebrate a decade together in the world we all love. See you on 12/4 for Dragon 4ge Day!”
The ‘4’ in ‘Dragon 4ge Day’ is the obvious giveaway and, from the looks of things, EA and BioWare are planning to show us Dragon Age 4 will before The Game Awards kicks off on December 13th.
As for when you’ll actually be able to get your hands on Dragon Age 4, don’t count on it anytime soon. EA CFO Blake Jorgesen confirmed during a fiscal report that Dragon Age 4 “probably comes after Fiscal 22”. That means launching April 2022 at the earliest. Gulp. Still, we’d prefer BioWare takes its time with this one as the studio can ill afford another big misstep.
