Kojima Productions has confirmed upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive Death Stranding will be coming to PC.

The official Kojima Productions Twitter account has let fans know a PC version of Death Stranding will be ready to launch in Summer 2020.

“Thanks to all of you who have been supporting #DEATHSTRANDING!” reads the tweet. “DEATH STRANDING release on PS4 is November 8, 2019!! Furthermore, KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS is happy to announce that DEATH STRANDING will be coming to PC in early summer of 2020!! #kojimaproductions #deathstrandingpc”

We’ve known since its announcement that a PC version of Death Stranding was on the cards but it’s been absolute radio silence up to this point. It’s definitely an unusual situation though. Death Stranding is published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and it’s built on Guerrilla Games’ (Horizon: Zero Dawn) Decima Engine. It is a Sony title through and through yet Kojima has the clout to force through a PC version of what is essentially a 1st-party PlayStation title.

Death Stranding is an enigmatic production from Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. Even at this stage the game is shrouded in mystery. It features an all-start cast of Hollywood and TV actors, including the likes of Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Troy Baker, and Lindsay Wagner. Players explore an open-world version of the United States, attempting to reconnect a fractured society.

Death Stranding’s initial launch will be on November 8th for PlayStation 4. The first reviews will be dropping at 12:01am on November 1st.
