THQ Nordic has announced a release date for Darksiders Genesis and, in a surprise twist, it’s actually coming to PC before it lands on consoles. What a rare treat.
Darksiders Genesis is a top-down Diablo-lite spin-off from the main Darksiders franchise. It’s being developed by Airship Syndicate, the third studio to work on a Darksiders title after Gunfire Games (Darksiders 3) and Vigil Games. They’re only previous known for Battle Chasers: Nightwar but that was actually a really well received riff on the JRPG format. As such, we’re cautiously optimistic for the prospect of Darksiders Genesis.
But, back to the matter at hand, those release dates. Darksiders Genesis will launch on December 5th on PC and Google Stadia (that thud you hear is the sound of Google Stadia losing yet another launch title), before a home console release for PS4 and Xbox One on February 14th, 2020. Nothing says Happy Valentine’s like chuntering through a dungeon with the Four Horsemen (and women) of the Apocalypse.
THQ Nordic also sent along a brand spanking new trailer if cinematics are your thing. Bad Moon Rising steps up for the umpteenth time in a game trailer, this time introducing us to Strife as he prepares to go head-to-head with Hell itself.
The system requirements for Darksiders Genesis were revealed some time ago but you can head over to here to check out estimated performance on your rig.
Darksiders Genesis is out on December 5th for PC and Google Stadia, and February 14th, 2020, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
