Suit up, it’s time to get out and yell muffled profanities pitch-side. Sega has announced a release date for this year’s iteration of Football Manager.
Football Manager 2020 will be coming to PC and Mac on November 19th, while details of a Google Stadia version will follow very shortly.
For mobile gamers, there’s also the truncated Football Manager 2020 Touch (Steam, iOS & Android) and Football Manager 2020 Mobile (iOS & Android), both of which are also due to launch on November 19th. Finally, there’s a Nintendo Switch version of FM2020 but Sports Interactive aren’t ready to share a release date just yet.
Developer Sports Interactive has been quite upfront about the benefits of the Stadia version in particular, claiming the cloud version will be the fastest way to experience Football Manager. “Football Manager on Stadia includes technology that is only available on that platform, utilizing the power of the cloud and Google’s data centers to ensure that more matches can be processed in parallel utilizing spare bandwidth across the whole system.
“This means you can have more leagues loaded into your save, or just go for a faster experience by keeping the amount of leagues the same, but having the matches process quicker than you can on any other platform.”
On the gameplay front, FM2020 includes a massively overhauled training section, the introduction of VAR and goal-line technology, official Bundesliga license, female coaches, updated match engine, and even a distinction between in the wetness of the grass on pitches.
Football Manager 2020, Football Manager Touch, and Football Manager 2020 Mobile are all out on November 19th.
