Assassin's Creed Valhalla Fishing Guide – How and Why to
There are many things that a Viking can do in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and not all of them involve splitting someone’s head open with an axe. You could, for example, pick up fishing.
Although it’s not something that the game particularly focuses on, AC Valhalla fishing can be a fun or relaxing activity that also yields rewards.
But before you take to the seas to chase your slippery and somewhat dull prey, you’ll first need to put some work into your settlement, Ravensthorpe.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Fishing
AC Valhalla fishing only becomes available after your settlement reaches rank two and you build the Fishing Hut, where you’ll find Arth.
He offers various rewards in exchange for turning in certain types of fish. You can get stuff like runes, ingots and treasure maps from him. But how do you fish in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
Well, you first need to find a body of water, which should be easy enough. Press N to equip your fishing rope, then right-click to aim and left-click to cast your line near the fish.
You can try spotting where they are with the open eye or take a dip and use Eivor’s fancy and very useful Odin’s Sight.
Fish will eventually approach your line, which is when you’ll have to press the spacebar to hook them. You’ll know it’s the right moment to do so when they jump from the water and make a splashing sound.
Once a fish is hooked, you’ll need to mash the spacebar to pull the fish in while guiding it toward you. Let it move too much in one direction and the line will break under the strain.
This takes a bit to master, so give it time. Remember that you don’t need to be on the shore to fish, as it can also be done from your boat.
