Just seven months on from Darksiders 3’s launch here we are, knee deep in info on Darksiders Genesis, an all-new action-RPG spin-off set in the Darksiders universe. It’s the 4 Horsemen (and woman) of the Apocalypse meets Diablo, and anyone who loves intense clicking should be in for a treat. But, Darksiders 3 didn’t exactly run like a dream, so be prepared for anything. In the meantime, here are the official Darksiders Genesis PC system specs.

Darksiders: Genesis Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows 7 64-bit CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8320 3.5 GHz RAM: 4 GB System Memory GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 380 DX: DirectX 11 HDD: 15 GB available space

Darksiders: Genesis Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7 64-bit CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz RAM: 8 GB System Memory GPU RAM: 4 GB Video Memory GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB DX: DirectX 11 HDD: 15 GB available space

If you thought Darksiders Genesis’ shift to top-down action-RPG antics would mean a drop in the system specs – think again. Darksiders Genesis is actually marginally more demanding than Darksiders 3. Not by much, but it should be enough to give you pause if you struggled to run DS3.

Down at the lower-end, we get the biggest changes. A mid-range GTX 960 or Radeon R9 380 is the absolute minimum you’ll need, up from a GTX 660 or equivalent for Darksiders 3. You’ll need to pair it with just 4GB RAM though, while the minimum-spec CPUs remain the same. They’re definitely on the high-end for minimum CPU requirements, however.

As for Darksiders Genesis’ recommended requirements, again, the recommended CPUs are identical to Darksiders 3. You’ll need a pretty hefty quad-core for higher frame rates, and Darksiders 3 taught us this game may not exactly be well optimised. It’s a different developer, for sure, but they have to be working off a base laid down by DS3.

If you want to play DS Genesis at 1080p/Ultra then a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon Rx 580 4GB are recommended. Any of the current GTX 16 or RTX 20 series should absolutely breeze through it though.

As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run the Darksiders Genesis System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users.
