In a recent interview Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO of Bulletstorm developer, People Can Fly, expressed the teams desire to give the Bulletstorm IP “it’s second life”. The original Bulletstorm was released way back in 2011. In recent years however it has been remastered in the form of the 2017 Full Clip edition on PC.
More recently Bulletstorm was being ported to the Nintendo Switch version, which is expected to drop at the end of August this year. There’s no doubt Bulletstorm has its fans and, acknowledging this, Wojciechowski goes on to say how “we would like to do something about it”.
Those in hope of any sort of Bulletstorm 2 announcement in the foreseeable future may be disappointed with Wojciechowski stating “There are no immediate plans to come back to this IP”. The developers efforts are very much concentrated on its current game Outriders, set to be published by Square-Enix. So perhaps Square Enix have something already lined up for People Can Fly, once they finish up Outriders.
Outriders isnt due until Summer 2020, so even if they do get straight on to Bulletstorm 2 we are not likely to see it until 2021 or 2022.
If you are unsure what Outriders is the following clip will give you a taste.
