Epic Games may struggle with content roadmaps but Ubisoft certainly doesn’t. The French publisher is a well oiled content machine these days, and Ghost Recon Breakpoint is set to fare no different.
Ubisoft has revealed the Year 1 content roadmap for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, detailing some fairly extensive plans to add in new goodies in the months after Breakpoint’s October 4th launch.
There will be a grand total of three episodes taking us through from October 2019 through to September 2020, each bringing a five-hour main story episode as well as a bunch of other little tidbits. The first hour of each of these episodes are free but you’ll need to stump up some cash to see them through to the end.
Episode 1 runs from October 2019 to January 2020 and introduces the Greenstone story content. In a first for Ghost Recon, it also welcomes a Raid. ‘Project Titan’ is an ultra-hard 4-player co-operative replayable end-game mission set on an active volcanic island. Taking cues from last year’s Predator special event, there will also be a Terminator special event. PvP fans will be treated to new maps for Ghost War as well as a new class – Engineer.
Episode 2 will take place from February to May 2020 and adds yet another story adventure, a raid update, a new special event, PvP maps, and an unannounced new class.
Finally, Episode 3 runs from June to September 2020 and will add a final five-hour story adventure, an all-new raid, a new special event, more PvP maps, and a new playable class.
That’s just year one though. Its predecessor, Ghost Recon Wildlands, has still been updated with new content right on up to Breakpoint’s launch.
If you want to see what GR: Breakpoint is all about before the October 5th launch, there is a closed beta test which runs from tomorrow, September 5th, through to Monday, September 9th.You can earn access one of three ways: pre-ordering a copy of Breakpoint, becoming a Uplay+ subscriber (currently free), or chancing your luck with a lottery.
Lastly, in one final bit of housekeeping, Ubisoft has also sent along a new trailer for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. ‘The Pledge’ is all about Cole D. Walker, played by Hollywood actor Jon Bernthal.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint comes to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 5th.
